Polecam
Having worked on a whole variety of TV programmes both live and pre-recorded, Mark is one of the most experienced polecam owner/operators available.
Polecam is a lightweight, portable jib that is quick to rig and shoot to achieve dynamic footage from locations not usually possible with conventional camera cranes such as a jimmy jib. The polecam can be operated on a tripod, a body worn harness or fitted onto a dolly for tracking shots. Our polecam rig can be supplied with the Toshiba IK-HD1 high definition camera or with the SD Toshiba IK-TU62 ½" 3 chip camera. This 800TV line camera gives much improved picture quality, image geometry and approximately 30% less image distortion over the IK-TU63 camera. The camera output can be SDI, Component or composite.
With the addition of a waterproof housing the polecam head becomes fully submersible and can obtain shots from underwater to land as we have used for Diving and Swimming coverage.
The polecam rig can be supplied with a VTR - usually Sony DSR50 for standard def. and Flash XDR or Sony XDCAM for High Def. It can also be cabled direct into an OB Scanner or fitted with a Digital microwave link.
Breaking down into 2 flight cases and a tripod bag the whole polecam system is easily transported and for 'flyaways' can be loaded into an aircraft hold saving expensive carriage costs.
